For the entry in Cuba and for touristic purposes up to a duration of stay of 30 days citizens of Switzerland and Liechtenstein need a so-called tourist card, which, prior to entry, can be obtained at the Cuban Embassy in Bern or at some airlines at the airport. A photograph is not necessary for this purpose.
A visa is, however, essential for longer stays or non-touristic purposes. For this, two coloured passport photographs in the format 35 x 45 mm are required and must not be older than 6 months. Up to a few exceptions the biometric requirements apply as they apply to all identity documents also in the Switzerland. Especially a monochrome light background is important.
