A photograph is not necessary for this purpose.<\/p>\n<p>A visa is, however, essential for longer stays or non-touristic purposes. For this, two coloured passport photographs in the format 35 x 45 mm are required and must not be older than 6 months. The passport photo can be adapted quickly and easily with our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idphoto.ch\/en\/upload\/passport-photo\">passport photo generator<\/a> to the right size. Up to a few exceptions the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.idphoto.ch\/help\/how-to-take-a-passport-photo-quick-guide\">biometric requirements<\/a> apply as they apply to all identity documents also in the Switzerland.
